This was a life-changing book for me because it showed me the flaws within Christianity. Oh, I'm sure that it didn't mean to. But if you have 10 different denominations swearing that their 10 different versions of baptism or the holy spirit, etc. are correct, then they all must be either wrong or insignificant to the grand scheme of things.
A very well written academic affirmation of key pentecostal doctrines. The author's interact with academic papers for much of the book and so it is not a light read but it is highly recommended for those who want a thorough academic elucidation of a pentecostal worldview.
A bit of a lightweight book. The thin book is perhaps evident of the amount of theology from Pentecostal perspectives.
Originally published as Understanding our doctrine.Rev. and expanded by Stanley M. Horton.
