Georgia "Tiny" Broadwick, an American balloon-jumper and barnstormer, was the first woman to make an airplane jump, near San Diego, California; subsequently completing over 1100 jumps. In 1914, with the first free-fall, Tiny Broadwick’s jump with a delayed opening show more of the parachute began (made possible) Sport Parachuting.
