Once you've seen one book from this series, you've basically seen them all, but they're perfect for a toddler storytime. The very bright colors and simple illustrations match perfectly with the repetitive text that's filled with animal noises. It worked fine for baby storytime, but I could see how much better it would work with the toddlers. The babies really liked the peek-a-boo aspect, but part of the fun is guessing the animal noises and they're obviously not quite ready for that.

I gave this book 4 stars because it is very bright and wonderful for young children. I think that it could have been constructed better to hold up for more uses. It is repetitive and children really like that. It is also interactive. I can remember having several popup books when I was little and this reminded me of them. I think you could use this when teaching children animal sounds. This book would also be good for fine motor development.
Another variation on the theme, the sound in this one are all easy enough to make, and the flaps and happy creatures are a winner with my toddler. Liam has also started picking out the facial features of the different animals, eyes, noses, mouths. I think he's trying to figure out where his horn it - he finds the rhino fascinating.

With its oversize flaps and bright, bold illustrations, this follow-up to the highly successful Peek-a-Zoo! is sure to be a hit with young readers. On every page, kids play peek-a-boo with different pets. Each animal sound becomes part of the game: Guess who? "Peek-a-woof!" says the dog. Sweet and funny, this book will bring many hours of fun.
