Although I didn't totally agree with the overall message, that we can live to be at least 120 years old, I did like the ideas that she presented to living a strong life. I did agree with her that our lives will be done when we have fullfilled our purpose on earth and God is "done" with us.
I liked how there were confessions at the beginning of each chapter and at the end of each chapter there were points to remember. When I listen to show more audio books sometimes my mind gets dragged away and I forget parts of what I've just heard. So the points to remember really helped me keep track of what was being said. At the end of the book there is a whole list of different Bible versus that talk about living long. I think that was kind of neat, that she was able to pull all of these versus together and put them in one place, as a handy reference (if you have the print version).
The writing was very good. It was so simple and had a good bit of humor included. I could really tell that Gloria had done her homework for this book, and the stories of centenarians were quite inspiring. But I think that living a long life is part of the makeup of her and her husband's ministry, so I would imagine she's been gathering this information for quite a while, not that it makes it any more or less inspiring.
The narrator did a great job reading. She had a Paula Dean quality to her voice. She just sounded like someone with so much love in her voice. It was more like listening to a friend talk that listening to an audiobook. I'm not sure if that was from the way the book was written, the narrator's voice, or a combination of the two (I'm leaning towards the later).
Overall I think this was a good one. I don't know that I would have picked it up on my own, but I'm glad I was given a copy. show less

If you think prosperity refers only to money and "things," then you won't get the real import of the title of this book. Gloria Copeland definitely believes you can't outgive God, but what else could Jesus have meant by, "Give and it shall be given to you..."?
I read this book 20 years ago and realized my grandparents had taught me its basic premise nearly 60 years ago! God does want the best for His children. (Problem is, we don't always know what that is!! I'll bet Joseph in that Egyptian show more prison didn't think that was "best." But he came to realize how truly good it was for him to have come in contact with the butler--and thus the Pharaoh!) Being a steward of what I have is a privilege and a blessing. That's what Gloria Copeland is trying to teach in this book. show less

I listened to the audio book version of Live Long, Finish Strong: The Divine Secret to Living Healthy, Happy, and Healed and while I love audio books, for a number of good reasons, I absolutely adore audio books that carry inspirational and empowering messages!
In Live Long, Finish Strong: The Divine Secret to Living Healthy, Happy, and Healed, Gloria Copeland presents a scripturally sound program to show listeners how to claim the promise of a long and blessed life. Goria believes the Bible show more teaches that God's plan includes a life span of at least 120 years. In the audiobook, she reveals that through faith in, and focus on, the Word of God, people can be energized and renewed regardless of their chronological age.
I'm not certain that I will live as long a life, but after listening to Live Long, Finish Strong: The Divine Secret to Living Healthy, Happy, and Healed, I have restored faith that we are here to fulfill the work God calls us to do and will leave our lovely earth when our mission is complete. (I already believe this, it's so nice to have positive affirmation of, however, steeped in scripture.)
Live Long, Finish Strong: The Divine Secret to Living Healthy, Happy, and Healed is an insightful new look at God's divine health plan for His children. If we open our hearts and minds, this book offers oodles of reinforcement to our faith and our understanding of God's plan for our individual lives.
Truly a celebration of what it means to be alive and how we should live out our lives to the fullest, finishing strong in the end to fulfill our God-given talents and purpose.
If you are looking for a renewed sense of purpose or for faith-based, uplifting insights to begin your journey, Live Long, Finish Strong: The Divine Secret to Living Healthy, Happy, and Healed will deliver this and so much more!
I think that reading the book version in print or ebook form would be equally effective, but I rather enjoyed the audio version. Gave me plenty of meditation and reflective time while driving, making great use of that time! show less

Blessed Beyond Measure: Experience the Extraordinary Goodness of God (Faithwords) by Gloria Copeland
Given to me by a friend and his wife. It was a bit of a tough read for me, as it is written from the the feminine perspective. That being said, it is a good read. It is worth getting the other side of the discussion when talking about blessed, particularly before seeking marriage.
