If judged merely by the title this book seems somewhat "silly". Actually, though, it's a very good book about how to meet people (not just for dating). I thought I should write a review after I saw that a LibraryThing(er) tagged this book, "Books I'm embarrassed to have read." :) it's well-written and has great ideas for starting a conversation, places to meet people, breaking the ice in social situations . . . I've recommended this book to customers in the bookstore where I work when they show more were looking for a book that would help them meet people and feel comfortable about it. I can't say that many of them have bought it, though. Darn the title anyway! :) Of course, I also have a hard time convincing people to buy The Sparrow by Mary Doria Russell but when they do they come back to thank me! show less
This book presents good advice on not just flirting but also generalized socializing. There is nothing particularly different in this book that could not be found in other books aimed at single people wanting to date and possibly find someone to marry. The approach the author presents is balanced and realistic because not only is the positive side of flirting covered but how to handle the numerous rejections is also addressed. The basic message is have fun, don’t get serious too soon, and show more do not take rejection personally. show less
