Useful handbook for anyone considering missionary work, or wanting to support missionaries in their church, or just wondering what the average Christian-in-the-street has to do with mission.

Well laid out, readable if a bit dry in places, and definitely recommended for any church wanting to think more about mission.
$8
Detailed guidelines for churches on how world mission is changing, the part local churches play, fiancé, praying and keeping a good friend, getting the church on board for missions, and keeping in touch. Wise advice interspersed with the sometimes eccentric characters who people mission history from Mildred Cable (who travelled by ox cars across the Gobi Desert, to John Cheese (who once tried to travel by ship as a piece of luggage!).
The author writes that missionaries are still very much needed to go not only from the West but from all continents to all continents. He also discusses the missionary's role today: the "volunteer" system, training and qualifications, finance, marriage, adapting to a new culture, and more.
$12
This comprehensive manual includes chapters on language, empathy, culture shock, appreciating other cultures, presenting the gospel, leadership, marriage and singleness, quality of life, and more.
