In the late 90s/early 00s I was a part-time writer for a music magazine, and got a review copy of this album. This is what I wrote in October 1999:
"Rammstein may not be the best band in the world, but their live shows are certainly out of the ordinary: fire, explosions, obscenity, everything you need. I have to admit that there's nothing wrong with the album - good sound, nicely packaged, the limited double CD even comes with the full 18-song set and three QuickTime videos on the CD-ROM show more track. It's just that a Rammstein live album, without any visuals, is a bit pointless, especially since the live versions of the songs aren't appreciably different from the studio versions. Although they have some strong songs, this release is mainly for hardcore fans; the rest of you might be better off with the two studio albums instead. [6/10]"
19 years later I still stand by my review. show less
