This book begins with a few short essays that describe the history of paper as well as the history of paper folding and paper cutting. Although I was fairly familiar with the history of paper folding and origami, I was pleased to learn more about the history of paper cutting.

The bulk of the book consists of spreads describing the work of a single paper artist, and covers everything from the nature-inspired paper cutting of Noriko Ambe to the satirical altered books of Robert The to the an show more haute couture newspaper dress by Gary Harvey.

All in all, this is a beautiful and thought-provoking collection of artists who approach paper through a number of different lenses. show less
