I was in this play at school, and when I found an old script on ebay I couldn't resist a reread. It was amazing how many bits I'd completely forgotten came flooding back when I read the script.

Other than being 'the play I was in', it's not particularly remarkable. The plot is the nativity, but told from the point of view of Gabby the angel. In this world, angels start small, and can only grow bigger if they do good deeds, so Gabby is desperate to do a good job. There are catchy songs that I show more can still remember, like 'every time you're good, you grow a bit' and 'tension', and hilariously naff bits that I thought were funny back then that have only grown more so ('Mary, you're going to have a baby', 'I'm not', 'You are' 'Oh, a baby, how lovely!') The running joke that no-one actually knows what Myrrh is except for one of the wise men is funny too.

I think it has too much religion and too much smoking and too much 'oh, isn't having a baby so wonderful and fulfilling' for it to probably have much of a future, but I have very fond memories!
