Mass Effect: Art and the Internet in the Twenty-First Century (Critical Anthologies in Art and Culture) by Lauren Cornell
Art is obviously a huge subject of its own, or perhaps more accurately quite a few huge subjects of their own, and it can be debated how relevant art is to interaction design. Nevertheless, I found this book to be useful. It is a rather broad collection of essays, portfolios and the like around the general subject of contemporary digital art. There are insights in there concerning collaborative media practices which are not unimportant if you happen to be involved in communication design. show more And the general sense of expressive freedom should be refreshing to pretty much any interaction designer. show less
