My First Riddle is an engaging children’s book. There are riddles depicted throughout the book and illustrations to follow. I love how the riddles describes a specific thing but has similar items that could be a possible guess for what is described.
This book is very fun for younger children and utilizes scientific terms to describe parts of a daffodil or other elements of nature.

The pictures are my favorite part of this book due to their uniqueness. The pictures are made of cloth and thread which are sewn together to create scenes of nature.

I've read this book to 3 year old children and they seemed to enjoy it. However, I would avoid going 3 or lower in many cases because the subject matter, words, and length might diminish interest show more and attention. show less
Corwin, Judith. Thanksgiving Crafts, A Holiday Craft Book. New York: Franklin Watts, 1995.

Corwin’s Thanksgiving Crafts starts with a well-thought out explanation of the origins of the Thanksgiving holiday. The explanation is clearly written, concise, historically accurate, and perfect for children between the ages of 9-12. Every craft-making activity comes with very straightforward, step-by-step instructions. The best feature of the book is that it is truly educational and multi-cultural show more in scope. Each activity is prefaced by a historical explanation of its origin and historico-cultural significance. The book not only includes crafts based upon European-American Traditions but Native American traditions as well. Crafts include Native American Designs, Cornucopias, Mayflower Thanksgiving Tiles, Silhouette Pictures, and even simple recipes for Native American Strawberry Corn Bread, Cranberry-Applesauce Bread, and others. The illustrations are straightforward and make it easy for children to follow. It is a great book for teachers to use in class during the holidays. show less
This book consists of almost 10 easy riddles. Each riddle has little hints within the illustrations and is followed by the answer. I think this book would be great for preschool students to play fun little riddle games with. I enjoyed the illustrations and quilt look throughout the book.
