Ray Strong

The Book of Chaos by Ray Strong is listed as the third book in The Dragons’ War series, but it seems to work well as a stand-alone, because it has a different main character. The first two books in the series are about Astria. This is about a different character.

This is a long book and I had other duties, so I couldn’t read it in one sitting, but I kept coming back to it whenever I had time. I didn’t want to put it down, and even picked it up during gaps in dinner preparation. It was a show more very enjoyable read. I would read more by this author.

The book is filled with action. The main character, Diana, begins as a child at which time her mother is murdered. It end with her as a young woman. After showing a bit of her life, the story jumps to a later period, and then to another period. You don’t miss anything with the time gaps; the story is simply moving to the next action-filled part of her life. Unfortunately, the end didn’t include something I was curious about, so I continue to wonder.

There are a few places that could use another proofreading, but those didn’t lead to confusion like some books I’ve encountered. It flowed well. I received a copy of this book for free via Goodreads. show less
