"Walking the London Blitz" can be used as hands-on travel guide as intended -- or, read as an interesting armchair history of London during the earlly days of the war. It would also be a terrific "companion read" to novels set in London at this time -- for example, Connie Willis' "Blackout."

This reviewer's only complaint is that the book's directions are written in paragraph form, making it rather cumbersome for use while walking on hectic urban streets. The addition of laminated cards show more printed with point to point directions and maps would increase its functionality. show less
