For anyone familiar with actor Richard Haydn from roles such as in 1941’s Ball of Fire, the character of Edwin Carp could have well been played by him. This book is a journal written by this character invented by Haydn and is delightful. While there are numerous typographical errors (which may be the publisher's), the character of Edwin Carp and his mother, his fiancé (of 9 years), his fiancé’s son, the housekeeper, and so many others are so well developed. The book is very humorous show more and I only wish it could have been made into a film with Haydn playing him. show less
