I needed some books on bees and came across this title -- not what I needed for a bee curriculum but what an expected gem of a book.
"I hope you will bee mine!" starts off the book and it goes from bees to ladybugs to fireflies to snails to caterpillar to butterflies ending with "When I am close to you, my heart truly sings!"
This charming boardbook is illustrated by Bryony Clarkson and is designed as a peek-through book. The cover has the title BEE MINE and shows two bees on the cover facing show more each other, holding hands, with blissful expressions (after all this is a book about love). When you turn the page, the bees are still visible and the story begins. When you turn the page there are two ladybugs on opposite pages, however when the next page is turned the two ladybugs end up next to each other -- "kiss kiss" and the pattern continues throughout the book.
This is a thick boardbook perfect for bedtime or snuggle time if your little one is still at the stage that they like kisses. show less

A mischievous chameleon plays tricks on others in the jungle, using its power of camouflage to get away with startling, scaring, and stealing from others - until a frog, also well camouflaged, shows chameleon that "tricks are no fun / when the tables are turned!" Chameleon, chastened, briskly apologizes and declares, "My camouflage tricks / are a thing of the past." Neat rhyme and bright jungle colors, along with the seek-and-find element, makes for a nice read-aloud with an obvious moral.
A beautiful book celebrating all the ways people can be family. Single parents, Multi-ethnic, Same-Sex, all are celebrated in this sweet story.
This book is for grades K-2.
This book follows multiple families as they move through their daily routines. Each family is different, including having different parental figures, family cultures, backgrounds, ethnicities, etc. The book expresses that though every family may be different, they are all beautiful in their own ways.
I would implement this book in my classroom when teaching my students about family cultures and traditions. I would read this book and then have students prepare a show more presentation where they could present aspects of their family to the classroom, which would enable students to take pride in their family culture all while they learn about someone else's. show less
