Harry Helms (AA6FW) cuts right through the heart of AMATEUR RADIO with no-nonsense knowledge and practical wisdom for HAMs drawn from real-world experience. In a nutshell, the advice and suggestions provided throughout this book boils down to this: (1) Visit www.arrl.org for information on the Technician Class License; (2) Download the question pool for the Technician Class License Exam; (3) Schedule test session through local VEC; (4) Read ALL ABOUT HAM RADIO and focus upon passing the show more exam, i.e. only memorize question pool answers now and learn technical details later after you get your Technician Class License; and (5) A 2-meter FM hand-held unit and TNC adapter for your PC is all the HAM RADIO equipment you'll actually ever use. This out-of-date book is the straight dope. show less
