If you ever want to read the sweetest, most heartwarming story, with many laughs and with two characters you will love, then pick this up.
I loved it from page one, where it opened up a hole to look at Ben's life by way of his morning routine, then juxtaposed that with Reece's morning routine ("Eventually he placed the journal back in the nightstand, reached for his alarm clock and regarded it coldly. 'Now when I set you to seven a.m., you are going to go off at seven--fucking--a.m. If you show more don't, then I'm smashing the shit out of you.'" A man after my own heart.), showing how opposite they are, yet how wonderful these two human beings are. And then, the story got downright sweet and hilarious (I want a soundtrack of Reece's quips for whenever I feel down) when they met, and made my face hurt from smiling constantly.
"'No one makes me laugh like you, you know that?'
'Yeah?' Reece asked softly. 'Well, you make me as happy as a clown on crack.'"
The chemistry between these two was palpable, and right from the start they were a perfect fit. Listening to them talk, reading the hot sex scenes, sharing the start of their lives together--it all just made me happy. There wasn't any angst, fantastical plots, cliches, anything like that; it was just full of two men lovin' on each other and coming together and healing one another. I highly recommend this.
"'You know it's understandable, right? You know I get it?'
Reece nodded his head, 'I know you do, and not just because you're a cop. You understand because you get me.'"
Oh, and side note: This book concludes my 2014 Reading Challenge of 270 books! :) show less

This is the first book that I’ve read from my box of books my two friends dropped on me…that I didn’t really care for. The characters were intolerable and unbelievable. I felt sorry for Mattie, especially seeing how Simon was absolutely horrible to him. Simon was so self centered that he couldn’t see beyond what was going to benefit Simon while at the same time, if Simon had asked Mattie to move Heaven and Earth for him…Mattie would have only asked “how far” and "where do you show more want them?". I don’t find any other books by this author in my box so maybe my friends had the same reaction that I did. show less
A funny, touching story about an over worked male nurse and a mysterous ghost that appears wearing bunny slippers. The two quickly become friends, but time is slipping away. 4.5 stars
I really, really liked this book. It was funny; the romance was well-developed; I liked the suspense - could they keep Sid's existence hidden? How long would they have? Could this possibly end well?
A lot of people had trouble with the ending, because when Sid wakes up from his coma he has no memory of his time as a ghost. But I thought it worked. Ghost stories should have some bitter with the sweet.
If the story had a flaw, it was the abrupt ending. I really wanted to see how things played show more out over time. show less
