This book starts as if it is a story, then changes into a non-fiction informational book about whales. It gave information about types of whales, what they eat, how to identify them by the blow they give off, size, shapes, enemies and protection. The illustrations were very realistic showing their sizes, characteristics etc. There was not too much information for young children to take in and the book was quite interactive. There were "Did you Know" bubbles, questions, a quiz, as well as show more some simle activities. This would be a great book for a school and classroom library. It would be a great book to use with young children learning about the ocean, animals and even protection of a species.
