Business historian Robert Hessen's 1979 nonfiction book argues in favor of corporations as respectable organizations. The book is an answer to the critiques of corporations made by authors Mark J. Green and Ralph Nader in their books Taming the Giant Corporation (1976) and Corporate Power in America (1973). Hessen's book questions the popular disapproval of big businesses and rewrites the history of corporations. He contends further that political meddling in a private matter cannot be show more justified by the corporate form since it is neither a government grant nor a special privilege. The book offers an utterly unwavering defense of the company. show less
