Short biography
Harriet Roosevelt Richards (1850-1932) was an American artist and book illustrator. Educated at the Academie Julian in Paris and at the Brandywine School, she was a pupil of Howard Pyle. A member of the New Haven Paint and Clay Club, the American Watercolor Society, and the Art Institute of Chicago, she is remembered today largely as an illustrator of early twentieth-century children's books.
