This is an interesting work. It's a very short tale told in a very Lovecraftian manner. The main character is searching for an old apartment building where he used to live and relates why he left, which is full of Cthulhu mythos-esque tones. The main part of the tale revolves around the narrator and his relationship with Erich Zann, who, for some reason, plays a haunting and highly unusual song on his cello each and every night up in his apartment. The story is told through a mostly show more successful attempt at a two-line rhyming scheme, which is very clever in parts but unable to make the leap in others, which leads to the downgrade in rating. Along with the book come a CD of the story being read, so you can choose to follow along while listening to the CD or leave it to your inner voice. I recommend reading without the CD, as the reader has very little sense of meter or how to read poetry aloud, though it's conceivable this is done on purpose. show less
