Protector Menander

a very interesting read, and the translation is competent, I am told. The period is focussed on Phocas and
Maurice, two emperors just before the great Heraclius, whose reign was too interesting to produce a detailed historian. I'm very sorry about that, but at least Menander gives us this much. I'd read it again, when a copy and I intersect again.
