The later seasons after the showrunner's departure being generally weaker (and in one of TV history's more surprising character developments, gradually turning formerly adorable Rory's character into an entitled, callous and rather unlikable person) is the only reason this is not a five star show. And I'm still hovering at 4.7-4.8 and could really be rounding it either way. Heartfelt, sweet, and oh so funny, this is everything a light-hearted family drama should be.
There were some excellent great episodes, including one where Sam becomes a chimp - it was very well done. We particularly enjoyed the an amazing finale to this series, when Sam leaps back into Al as a young man, caught up in a murder trial.
Unsurprisingly there are, if we thought about it in any depth, a few logic leaps. It's almost inevitable in any story involving time travel. But one has to suspend reality while watching this kind of show. More importantly from my perspective, there were show more also some amusing quips, and fascinating insights into both Al and Sam, as we explore a little of their past and get to know them better.
Definitely recommended. show less

Another great season of Quantum Leap. There are a couple of episodes where you wonder what the writers were thinking but mostly still enjoyable. It was Season 5 where they lost the plot more often.
