I was hooked on this book from the very beginning. First because the author, Jon Say, took the time to send me an actual hard copy and sign it with a nice little note. The second thing that dragged my attention away from sunny days was the S&M involved in the book. Not being into that myself it was certainly entertaining to read how it's done and was written in a way that even if you have no interest in the whole thing you become a fly on the wall during sessions and get kind of flustered. show more It's not just a book about sex. There's lots of mystery and likable characters. An incredibly easy read that I hope shows up under quite a few Christmas trees for others to enjoy. show less

Though typically a "Style" type TV viewer, I thoroughly enjoyed this "Spike"/guy-geared action, romance novel. There is plenty of sexually charged material without it coming across as sleezy or without much/any sex. Fleash Wound is a guy-fantasy that is respectful of the female characters as three dimensional, real, intelligent, funny, interesting, capable people. I loved the Faye character (a sex therapist of sorts), and the exploration of whether there is value in playing out one's sexual show more fantasy. Jon Say writes a fast-paced story, full of twists and turns that is hard to put down. I look forward to a sequel. My one request for Mr. Say would be to spend as much time describing Max's hair, build, scent, clothing, etc. as he does on the ladies! show less
There are so many things one could say about this book...it is engaging, edgy, romantic, sweet, a complete change from the expected formula. I will simply say that this is not something I would have picked up and read on my own and I am now a convert. The story grabs hold of the reader in the first paragraph and won't let go until the final sentence. The actual concept is one that hasn't been done often and (to the best of my knowledge) hasn't been done well until now. However, this book is show more not for the squeamish as it is full of what is considered to be non-mainstream scenes that are sexual in nature. However, if non-traditional lifestyles and sex aren't something that completely turns you off of a story you should most certainly give this one a try; you won't be disappointed. *Thanks to Jon Say for the opportunity to preview this story* show less

I have to admit that I was very leery about what I would think about this book when I first received a copy of it for an early review, but I loved it! Max is an-ex homicide detective who's life has basically gone down the tubes since he received a "flesh wound" in a gas station hold up. Divorced and now working in a bar, Max is going through the motions of life when he gets into a car accident with a high priced call girl named Faye. But one Faye gets involved in his life it is nothing but show more roses and not in the way you think. Great characters and realistic plot line make this a much deeper book than meets the eye by just reading the back cover. Although it is racy in many instances, it is a necessity in order for the story to develop. I hope you will test the waters as I did and see what waits for you inside the cover of Flesh Wound. You might be surprised what you will learn about life and about yourself! show less
