Leonard Kenworthy has prepared a very interesting study guide which should be useful to adult First-Day School classes and in Friends schools where Quakerism is taught. The book is notable for its myriad details, it's careful organization, and its balanced fairness to various strains within the Society of Friends. While obviously intended first for Quaker meetings and schools, the book will serve well the interests of others who want a dependable overview of origins, development, and show more contemporary expressions of this 350-year-old movement. show less
This is a very information book about rice. This book is divided into 8 chapters. 1. The World's Chief Crop 2. How Rice was developed 3. Types of Rice 4. The Rice Cycle 5. Growing Rice in the United States 6. The Enemies of Rice 7. The Many Uses of Rice 8. The Rice Revolution. I would use this book in a unit study on the history of the foods that my students eat at home.
The book, published in 1987, brings together nineteen essays--mostly by American authors --that focus on a number of concerns, both current and continuing that impact on our global population. They range from Sexuality identity; Women’s Rights; the spiritual role of families, Quaker Education, the penal system; Quakers and politics; Equality; aging, and several others.

The authors are listed below and there is a pdf version available at this link:
