The fabrics, styles, and designs in the photos seem dated despite the somewhat current copyright. However, the instructions are for standard sewing techniques, which never seem to become outdated. I would recommend purchasing this book if you are a beginner. It would be a great reference book to keep near the sewing machine.

Very easy to understand, terms used in quilting and all the essentials are explained, along with putting the quilt together.....great for any beginner.
