Kate Reddick

Kate Reddick's Horses is a bit dated perhaps, but it is a wonderful general introduction to horse and pony breeds for an older child or young adult. I had a copy of this when I was a teenager, and I read it until it literally fell apart. I especially liked (and continue to like) the clear and concise information regarding the evolution and domestication of horses, with enough material for a solid general overview, but not too complex for young readers to grasp. Unfortunately, this book is no show more longer in current print and rather difficult and at times expensive to obtain. show less
