DNF at 25% after the FMC (an archeologist turned bounty hunter) was trying to escape yet another set of unknown enemies.
I found the backstory inconsistent and a little off-putting. Most residents didn't believe in "mythological elves" but there were lizard people and fairies. The FMC committed some SA on what seemed to be the MMC love interest? And the FMC's TSTL behavior was too much to continue to read about - the MMC warned her to be quiet multiple times and yet she kept talking to ask show more questions.
I apparently enjoyed another sci-fi series of this author which is why I had downloaded this book, but it seems like the writing quality isn't as consistent or my tastes have changed. show less

Fun and quick read!
Such a fun series! I love the growth that the characters have gone through since the first book in the lost ancients series, especially the faeries! This book is a fast read as there is always impending doom just around the corner. Can't wait to see what happens next. Every time a mystery gets solved, there tends to be more to it, leading to more questions!

Not good at all
The main character does things for no discernible reason. There is no understanding of motivation or logic. The plot limps along from one forced action to the next.
The prose was adequate.
