With over 35 years experience, Michael Collins is known for his colour, highly detailed "Record Picture" photography. Exhibited widely in the UK, USA and Germany, he was the first contemporary artist to have a photograph in the British Museum. Michael Collins' photographs are in numerous prestigious collections and are the subject of five monographs.
Michael Collins is also known for his sculptural photography, which ranges from his series on the British Museum's Parthenon Marbles to sculptures and items in private collections to unconventional sculptural structures on industrial and other sites.
As well as being a photographer, Michael Collins is a writer and essayist; his writing has been published in Granta, Tate Magazine, The Financial Times, The Guardian, The Daily Telegraph etc. In May 2025, Notting Hill Editions published Blind Corners, a book of his essays on photography. - Birthplace
