John Alexander (16) (1945–)

This is a useful addition to the relatively small number of books on Scottish breweries, and is well illustrated with maps, beer labels and images of breweries. However, the lack of an index means that you have to rely on the table of contents to identify the material you want.

A serious book rather than a light-hearted brewer's companion but worth reading as long as the science doesn't put you off.

A comprehensive record of Dundee pubs divided into pre- and post- 1945, with many period illustrations. There is also a short history of Ballingall & Co. Ltd.
