Full colour throughout. Some of the themes were more adult than I expected (sex, racism, drunkenness, fights, and abusive language). The naïve chick Abelard, wants to lure pretty Epily by catching the moon for her. This is the story of his travels to America, the country which invented flying machines. He experiences hardships and friendships, hatred and kindship, but the way of the world proves too much for him and he dies in the arms of his friend. I loved the idea from this story of the show more magic hat that produced a new message every day, inspirational sayings such as "Write your troubles in the sand, carve your blessings in stone", and "Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm". show less
The French, they aren't like us. Which is a good thing. I ordered this for J GN thinking based on erroneous reviews it was a children's title. It is not. But still the art is wonderful and the story or a mouse author who thrives on solitude but learns this may not be the best for his art is lovely. Just not for 8-12 year olds.
