They are most famous for their radio skit, "The President of the Slow Talkers of America", a wonderful exercise in exasperation. But they had a number of other comic triumphs, a good deal less dependent on delivery to grab the laughs. This anthology is an exercise in nostalgia for the early 'Boomers" in the crowd.
I really wanted to enjoy this work from the comedy duo, due to see there is an introduction from one of my literary heroes, Kurt Vonnegut Jr.. However these transcripts of comedy routines just fall flat and raise no more than an occasionally smirk with me. Maybe it is better when delivered on radio or something.
Wonderfully eccentric characters from the creative minds of Bob and Ray are showcased here in some of their best routines. If you are not familiar with B&R, it can be difficult to appreciate their humor in written form. You really have to know their style. You'd be better served seeking out recordings.

For me reading these, I can hear their voices, and I know the characters, and I laugh out loud. Wonderful book.
Comedy legends Bob and Ray turn some of their popular characters into a charming children's book. Fleebus is a disease that causes people to walk around in a sitting position. Fans of Bob and Ray will be amused while the kids enjoy the story.
