- Alan Beck, Sc.D., is an associate professor of animal ecology at the University of Pennsylvania and director of the Center for the Interaction of Animals and Society. He has appeared on Sixty Minutes, the CBS Morning News, and the Today Show to discus his work, which has also been featured in the New York Times, People, the New Yorker, and other national publications.
