Dr. Dave, earned a Master's at Harvard Divinity School trying to figure out the meaning of the word Cod and a Ph.D. in American Civilization at Brown University where his weekly newspaper column offended every faction on campus. Especially good on advising writers on how to find voice--if not their own, then someone's voice-- to make a paper readable.
This is a fantastic guide to writing papers at any level. I have suggested it to my high school students and to collegues who are working on masters programs. It is the first thing that I grab when I have a question about any kind of writing. It is very easy to understand but isn't "cutsy" or "gimmicky."
It's like the Protestant revolution hits Strunk&White.
