Coming back from Edinburgh Fringe I rediscovered this book that I bought several years ago. It is really a how-to book, which may fit easily as a text book for a course in stand-up comedy. Numerous examples are given and interspersed with "now write you response here". Although the book is from 1989 it didn't felt outdated to me.
This is not just for those dreaming of standing up in front of a comedy club. It's for anyone who wants to find the humor in their own life AND for those who want to be able to tell their friends a story and have them actually laugh. I LOVE it and learned from it.

I find this to be a very good book. It is very helpful, and has good info to help you make jokes. one thing i dont like about it is that it isnt very "fast paced read" friendly. It a;so presents the info in a clear and concise way.
