There is something very appealing about a story that makes a vampire vulnerable, in a literal sense. In most vampire stories they are powerful - physically as well as socially. However, Lexis was punished by his coven for hubris – blinded by the sun and cast out. He is captured by an institute that secretly experiments on supernaturals. When one of them makes a daring escape, Lex at first resists leaving. He has fallen into despondency after being blinded and then subjected to humiliation show more in captivity. But, the werewolf Bryce refuses to leave him. Lexis feels he’ll be a burden. Bryce feels they should be together.
I liked this story because it was not typical. In normal circumstances, these two males would be comparable and likely battling for control. Bryce is physically powerful, but is willing to be submissive to Lexis. He realizes that Lex needs that control to overcome his own insecurities. But, Bryce is not truly submissive. He loves Lex and wants him to be strong again. He knows the only way they can be equals is for Lex to recover his sight. But, that is easier said than done. When Lex’s old master decides to deal with him permanently, these two must face the power of a vampire coven.
The sex is hot enough to singe the page, especially when Lex finally allows himself to submit to Bryce. That scene alone was worth the price of admission. Yet, there is a tender love story here as well. There is a fine line between caring for someone and mothering them. The line between independence and foolhardyness is equally fine. Watching Bryce and Lex maneuver around each other, while trying to build trust at the same time makes for an enjoyable read. Though the story is simplistic, and the resolution to the plot somewhat too easy, the characters were engaging enough to overcome these minor issues. The story is fast paced, and there is enough action both in and out of bed to keep a reader interested. Overall, this is a very well done paranormal romance. I wouldn’t mind reading a follow-up novella to see where these two are after some time together. Highly recommended! show less

"Let Your Love Fall Like Rain" by Mya
My Opinion:
"Let Your Love Fall Like Rain" was quite some read that kept me shaking my head and saying, wow! It was hard to conceive that an adult would want to have a relationship with a child such as Alana was to him, especially with his own daughter's best friend. After some thirty years with his wife Christiana, how could this show more happen...but it did. The outcome of it all seemed to have worked out after the daughter Cari who was out of control for a bit, finally came around, but still, the story left me in awe of it all—and then moving on with Alana's parents...oh my goodness, what a mess! If you love drama, then this one is for you because drama is all over the place in this story. If there are lessons to be learned...well, you will have to pick up this one to see for yourself if you can find one. The author gives the readers a story that will provide much thought to ponder over after the read. show less

I am torn. I liked the idea of this story, a captured blind vampire is saved by a werewolf and there is an instant attraction and friendship. The vampire begins to get his confidence back as well as falling in love with the noble and loyal Bryce.
Like I said in my update, this was more erotica than erotic romance. The sex scenes (numerous) were more explicit and rough rather than romantic.
I really liked the ending, in the big battle and could have wished the storyline to have been fleshed out show more now.
Overall, this was an ok read, but nothing exceptional. If you are in the mood for a quick and hot vampire/were PWP, then this book is for you. show less

I really like this story. The sex scenes were hot, there was an actual plot. I liked both Lexis and Bryce. I liked how the author wrote with out much description of the main protagonists' looks until the end. I wished it was just a bit longer to go into more detail about the both characters' background. There are editing issues but it does not detract from the story.
P.S. I loved that Bryce was willing to give control to his partner to help him with his disability. A blind vampire, who'd have show more thought about that? show less
