- Epicurean Philosopher of the 2nd century AD. Almost nothing is known of his life. Had a 25000 word summary of Epicurean Philosophy carved on a portico of his native city, Oenoanda in Lycia. The inscription, discovered in 1884 by the French archaeologists Maurice Holleaux and Pierre Paris, includes, inter alia, treatises on Ethics , Physics, as well as a letter of Epicurus.
