A Full and True Account of the Wonderful Mission of Earl Lavender, Which Lasted One Night and One Day: With a History of the Pursuit of Earl Lavender and Lord Brumm by Mrs Scamler and Maud Emblem by John Davidson
A mildly amusing novel. In this satire of Darwinism and of British society of the time, a young man, believing himself the ultimate product of natural selection, attempts to test the theory that society exists to feed and entertain him and a friend, without any effort on their part. Along the way they discover what they believe to be the missing link, but it turns out to be another friend. Meanwhile their girlfriends are trying to hunt them down.
