- Kenneth W. Davis was born and grew up in southern Iowa. He received his BA (1967) from Drake University and his MA (1968) from Columbia University. He served in the U.S. Army for three years (1968-71), during which he met and married Bette. He received his PhD (1975) from the University of Michigan. He has served on the faculties of the University of Kentucky (1975-88) and Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (1988-), where he served as English department chair. He has been an active writer, consultant, and trainer, working on four continents. He and Bette are the parents of two children.
