WE ARE SO ACCUSTOMED TO THE CONSTANT BOMBARDMENT OF WEATHER INFORMATION THAT IT IS HARD TO BELIEVE THAT SEVENTY YEARS AGO SUCH A DEVASTATING STORM COULD BE A SURPRISE.
