This is a surprisingly little known gem from the lesser-known F/M branch of the erotic chastisement branch of erotic literature. It relates the inventive chastisement and humiliation activities of a small group of young upper-class women in the development of masochistic trends in the men of their acquaintance, some of them titled. The women conspire together to ensnare their victims for the purposes of severe floggings and other delights, all directed as preliminaries to more conventionally show more amorous pursuits, thus encouraging the need for pain in their menfolk. The book is delicately and well written, but it is packed with erotic incident. show less
This is one of the hardest to find of the remarkable 'Professor Spender' erotic novels, and also perhaps the best. Spender is a down-trodden faculty member in a small US College, surrounded by many other quirky faculty members and a similar number of hot-blooded college girls who lust after them, despite the best efforts of the College management. This book describes a College-sponsored field trip to a site in the Middle East related to the biblical Sodom, and the activity for which that show more city is best known figures strongly amongst the faculty and students who participate. There are also many odd characters of a uniquely US touristic flavour, and Spender, who is an expert on the region as well as a seasoned practitioner of the erotic arts, has a busy time satisfying all of them. This laconic style and dispassionate approach add hugely to the attraction of the story, which is thereby humorous and entertaining. Well worth seeking out for aficionados of the erotic genre show less
This volume contains two separate books: ‘Flossie’, and ‘Eveline’, both of which appear to have been issued separately at various times. They are both examples of Victorian/Edwardian erotic literature, and within this genre they are of higher than average quality. It should be said, though, that the morality they demonstrate involves several aspects of age and consanguinity that differ considerably from those appropriate today. ‘Flossie’ relates the amatory experiences of a young show more lady and her female guardian during their acquaintanceship with an opportunistic young gentleman. ‘Eveline’ described the many encounters of the eponymous young lady as, with the help of her willing father, she engineers a marriage to an English Lord, (eventually) ensuring a male succession. Both stories are replete with stimulating tales of playful activity. show less
This is one of the harder to find members of the substantial collection of late Victorian erotic novels that were re-issued by Grove Press in the mid 1980s. It is characteristic, in that it has the appearance of being patched together from different sources, and in this case, whilst the first two of its three sections are reasonably consistent, the third differs. The earlier parts are a correspondence between the worldly wise Lady Maude, having a voyeuristic holiday in Venice, and her show more innocent, lovelorn cousin Augustus left behind in England and lusting futilely. The objects of his attraction are girls of lower class who have a tendency to do their chores wearing tight denim clothing as they kneel provocatively on the floor. Lady Maude uses her contacts to forcibly deprive Augustus of his fantasy objects, and in the third part we witness his conversion to the joys of punitive dominance of the lower class females while being married respectably. Some of the named characters in this last section will be familiar to devotees of the genre, including the ubiquitous Noreen. A classic. show less
