This is a romantic comedy with a more-complicated-than usual background and setting. Grant is cast against type as a grungy malcontent, and while the whole thing takes awhile to get going, once the ladies arrive, it's a lot of fun.

2021 movie #122. 1965 Gritty crime drama set in San Francisco. Ex-con Eddie (Delon) is trying to set his life straight with wife (Ann-Margaret) and baby but his brother (Palance) wants him for one last job. Early Ann-Margaret serious role.
During World War II, a man persuaded to live on an isolated island and spot aircraft finds himself responsible for a teacher and several all female students.
Not Rated - Consider PG for language and mild violence
Won Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. Bsed on a great novel, Flowers for Algernon.
