John Howell (2) (1947–)

This is what a book about an artist should be. A long interview with Laurie Anderson printed verbatim. This was so unpretentious as to give a real feel for the lady herself. Anderson obviously knows John Howell well and trusted him not to misrepresent her or twist things for sensationalism. The result is like eavesdropping upon a conversation between two friends.

The book also contains a couple of essays about her work. These were not as good, indeed, one was pretty 'precious' but this could show more not detract from the body of the work which really added to my understanding of the lady and her work. First class! show less
