This was a wonderful long weekend with my daughter to New York City. Museums, a play, food, just walking and seeing the city. We took in the Today Show. There is an assortment of programs, tourist brochures. There are few photographs, but one of Eden in the Subway with the sign pointing to the World Trade Center, a little over 3 months before the destination was gone. Included are miscellaneous items from other trips of the year, especially Washington DC , Fernbank School, and the program show more for my Mercer Service award for 35 years. show less
Clippings, daily diary, and thoughts about coming home. To Eden:
"First let me tell you my plan. I am coiming home with 1 suitcase of shells, 1 suitcase of dolls, 1 suitcase of photographs and discs, 1 suitcase of notebookswith descriptions of people, plans and especially notes on the history of Antigua"
This not a very well organized diary, but does have notes of things I will want to remember.
I had a difficult adjustment returning to the US after my two years in the Peace Corps. This covers the months July, August. I express a lot of anger.
This diary has a few entries from November, December, and January 2006, looking ahead to my close of service. There are also 19 letters that I wrote to the husband from whom I had been divorced since 1978, as he was dying of cancer. I never gave them to him
