DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) is a scientifically based diet that has been demonstrated to work in reducing hypertension. This book provides the scientific basis for how a diet which emphasizes fruits, vegetables and dairy in a balanced diet can reduce blood pressure. Part One focuses on why the diet works. Part Two addresses making the commitment to use the plan. The remaining sections give guidance on how to implement the diet and provide menus and recipes.

I found this to show more be the single best diet book that I have ever read. The science is sound, the diet is balanced, the results are demonstrable. The plan can also be used to effectively lose weight at a measured but consistent rate. There is no reliance on bizarre foods or self denial except for the limits on salt. show less
