This work is the companion to the first volume that details the genealogies of the royal families of Europe. Together these constitute a revival of the original Almanach de Gotha which had not been published since the end of World War II. Volume II details the genealogies of the European families that hold the rank of prince or duke and are not classified as royal.

The Almanach de Gotha is the most famous guide to the genealogy of European royal families. Out of print since the second World War, this edition revived an old publishing tradition and updated all of the royal families eligible to be included in Volume I of the work. Published in English for the first time, this is an invaluable guide to the reigning and formerly reigning European families, as well as the mediatized princes of the Holy Roman Empire.
