Not as widely available or known as 'Learning to Ride, Hunt, and Show', this book is still a great addition to a horsey library. For those that don't know, Wright was one of the greats in the jumping world and taught many other greats (even the god George Morris). Wright writes clearly and uses Sam Savitt's illustrations to further clarify certain points. I probably would have skimmed this book and not been impressed when I was a teenager; one sentence can mean a year of work on horseback to show more really master, not just be familiar with as I was. 'Horsemanship' really does spell out some techniques and form issues essential to riding forward seat, from the basics to the more advanced work. show less
