This is a novel based on the author's experiences during the second world war.

Judith,born in Prague is at the age of thirteen deported with her Jewish parents to the Lodz Ghetto in Poland.Within a year her parents die and she is left alone to fend for herself.Her sanity is saved by the flowering of love with an extraordinary older man,Michael.

In the summer of 1944 with the Russians approaching the whole ghetto is evacuated to Auschwitz.A labour camp follows.In January she finds herself show more trudging through snow on a Death March across Germany.In March1945,together with fifty other women,she travel in a closed coal waggon,without food or drink arriving a week later at the Belsen concentration camp.Miraculously she survives till liberation day.At last the long awaited day comes when she travels back to Prague to look for relatives and friend,especially Michael.A new life is about to start. show less
