Style almost impossible to read, author's need to impress us with his heartiness, and that of his buddies, gives the sense of an eight year old boy spinning tales. Here's an example: the book opens, "War is a journey into the unknown with death at your back and a woman on your mind." There's also a tremendous amount of quoted dialogue, but it all sounds like the author. My recommendation is to stay away from this one.
