A great read! I got suckered in my its fun title (sea otters are so cool) and hypnotised by its silver glittery cover. Next thing I know, I was unwrapping it at home, thinking "why did I buy this??"

But I gave it a go, and I'm glad I did!

An amusing, sad, fascinating road trip of a book about growing up, art, family, and (since our protagonist is a teenage boy), sex.

He is, quite frankly, obsessed with sex. Are all teenage boys??

Art, sex and world travel combine within this rather surreal story. While I thought the 'voice' of the protagonist was fantastically written, I found myself waiting for the end in the last quarter - perhaps it lost something along the way.

Recommended as something which 'breaks the norms', will cause a few giggles and give you something to talk about.

Humor en een zoektocht, zowel naar zichzelf als naar de herkomst van een bizar beeldje. De hoofdpersoon is sympathiek van begin tot eind. Een mooie coming of age novel.
